I feel talagang naiwanan ako. Eto na naman yung sakit ko... I'm itching for some action! Senseless last days of summer!!! I miss someone, I feel empty, I feel useless, I feel fucking bad...

I hate the advertisment by Informatics. It is stated like this: "If you didn't go to Ateneo or La Salle, where would you go? Go abroad!". I don't know if this is exactly what is stated but certainly this is the jism of the advertisment. I hate it. Super hate it. It's bothering me because it's a low blow. I feel hopeless...

Blunt and honest. I don't want to end up as a call center agent. Damn talaga! I don't have any against the business because it has pumped new blood on the economy! Pero kung iisipin what happens to the course you took up!? One example that haunts me is a contestant in Game Ka Na Ba. He took Economics in UST and now his job is in call center. Edu Manzano asked him if he's planning to pursue a job related to his course. The contestant's answer was: no. The point is I want to pursue my passion and dreams! But reality will sting us back...

I read an entry on stories (nasty rumors) about private high schools. I read a portion about LSGH. There was a story on LSGH boys turned masturbation into a sport. Just like any sports, there were particular events like pabilisan, paramihan, and palayuan; I don't want to go on the details.

I can't believe it! Where was I when these happened! I might have joined and won 3rd place! Hahaha just joking! For real, I might get disqualified...

"Tanginang aso yan..." - aking bungisngis

Di ko na matiis ang sakit ng ulo ko kahapon. Kaya humingi ako ng pera sa mom ko para bumili sa sari-sari store dyan sa may tabi tabi.

Nang makabili na ako ng Biogesic (Ingat - John Lloyd Cruz), naglalakad ako sa sidewalk at may nadaanan akong makeshift na bahay. Gawa sa mga kariton at kahoy ang kaniyang ding ding; ang bubong ay gawa naman sa yero, at ang sala (oo, may sala slash bedroom) naman ay isang sofa. Biglang may tumatahol na aso, yung isang aso alam ko nakatali pero pilit na gustong makawala. Tapos biglang sa isang butas ng bahay may lumitaw na itim na aso, tinatahulan ako. Napansin ko na hindi sya nakatali...Shit...bigla lang siya nakawala sa butas at hinabol ako. Nagpanic na ako, dahil seryoso syang mangangagat. Habang tumatakbo akong pa sideways, dahil mas mainam na tumawid na lang para in case maiwan ko ng aso, nakatingin pa rin ako sa aso hinihina.

Nang nakatawid na ako, hinabol pa rin niya ako. Sakto sa kabilang sidewalk may aso ring nakawala (Wala bang mga amo ito?!), at tumatahol. Putcha, talagang takot na takot na ako at tumitibok na ang ulo ko. Tumakbo pa rin ako, hinahabol pa ako ng bagong aso at ng itim na isa. Ang nakakatawa natingin ako sa kanila para makita ko mangangat na sila. Yung bago napagod at huminto pero tahol pa rin ng tahol. Yung itim ang makulit, malapit na sya at sa sandaling iyun ito ang mga naisip at lumitaw sa isip ko:

1. Makakagat na ako!!!!
2. Sipain ko kaya sa ulo o nguso!?!?!
3. Naalala ko na sinabi ko ang (see above) kay Tippy!!!
4. Sugat!!!
5. Rabies Shot!!!

At hanggang salita lang pala ako, hindi ko rin tinadyakan ang aso sa nguso dahil sa sobrang takot. Kaya tinakbuhan ko na lang ng mabilis! At salamat sa Diyos, napagod rin ang aso. Nanlamig ang pawis ko, at nahiya sa sarili (Napicture ko yung mukha ko na takot na takot at mga nakakita tumatawa).

Tumawa na lang ako ng malakas at sinabi ko sa sarili: "Tanginang aso yan..." .

On my way to La Salle Green Hills along Ortigas-EDSA (Gate 5 for bus commuters out there), I glanced upon my bus window a food establishment, GoodAh!!!, famously named after an 80's television ad. It was the IT food experience during the 80's. It was famous, it became a movie, in which Tito, Vic, and Joey starred!

GoodAh!!! is famous for its goto, tapa, and dinuguan. It has famous, unique and colorful signs like "Open 25 Hours!!!" and "Walk Thru! The Bridge!". GoodAh!!! came up with "Tapsi" too.

After we came from my tita's house to continue our good Catholic's traditional pabasa last Thursday (Mind you, we were feasting during the Holy Week with lechon, rosemary chicken, Kaldereta and a lot more meat), my mom and tita talked about GoodAh!!! after they spotted one in San Juan. My mom said GoodAh!!! got bankrupted and didn't pay their employees for three long years. I don't know if the story was true. My mom added that their tapa was great. My tita said that GoodAh!!! has the best goto. Gotoking is nothing compared with GoodAh!!!'s, she said. The talk then shifted to good ol' 80's probably inspired by GoodAh!!!. But the chit chat made me curious about GoodAh!!!.

So, this summer, I'll be trying 80's nostalgia GoodAh!!! and eat some goto and tapa!!! Sama ka??

Speaking of tapa, try the tapa served at Anton's family apartelle found somewhere in Chico Street near Katipunan!!! Yum...

During the grad paractice, IV-I, Wacky's class and partner in Schoolture Shock, had Tapaking for lunch. I got one meal care of Wacky and ate it alone. I shot the water-like vinegar of Tapaking and became dizzy; just like what Marlon had warned. After the meal I craved for tapa. Anton then invited us to eat at their apartelle and try their tapa. So Eco, Hiram, Bryle, and I went along. The meal was hearty and delicious! And what's good pa, the meal was "sagot" na ni Anton! Hahahaha! Libre!

Their tapa is served with egg (so...tapsilog sya!) and atsara! The atsara's sweet and sour taste harmoniously balanced the tapa's sweet flavor! Hahahaha! Lasang Pinoy! Bottomline MASARAP and MURA!

Decision 2007

Never all the way; the grand tradition of finest education running in my veins has been cut short. My decision to continue is my vital oxygen. Different factors have shaken my fortitude. I have sought for advice yet all has been the best for me. I don't want to end up just another run in the mill.

It all depends on my decision; the one million question of where will I study. Both are my future. Both are keys. But only one is where my heart is...

The days are passing. The faint smell of June is coming. Here I stand on the edge, afraid to dip my feet on a new world and rich tradition many before have ventured into. I may stumble at the beginning. But in my heart the heaviest regret I carry will always remind me the excellence, tradition, and values of what La Sallians are all about and it will carry me to heights I never dreamed of before.

Buying Havas

Buying Havaianas

My tita always tells me to buy a pair Havaianas (tsinelas with special rubber) because they are well incorporated with the fashion scene in ADMU. They are expensive and super uso. Everyone wants one. For me, they are status symbols; it is not the actual tsinelas you're buying, it is the brand name attached.

Last Sunday my other tita, my sister, and I went shopping in Gateway. We went to Rustans and Havaianas were for sale. My tita and sister bought each without I realizing it because I was talking to a friend. I can't go near the Havaianas section of Rustans too because I was wearing fake one called Havana. I borrowed them from Anton. When my tita encouraged me to buy one, I slipped into a pair of dark blue Havaianas. It was too long. The sizes they have for me were the white ones. At that moment, I saw my feet and - Shit - they were dirty. I was trying to hide them from the sales girl or from the other buyers. Anyway I tried the white ones. After it didn't feel good, I removed them. I saw the pair and they were dirty. The pair was stained by my feet. Quickly, I placed it back again on the hooks and ran away. I messed some good white Havaianas... Damn, I felt conscious about my feet...

So when buying Havaianas or any other expensive tsinelas, have your feet clean and nails done. Scrub them, soap them, scrub them again. You need money

While watching the awarding ceremony of our graduation for the honorable students, I promised myself that when I'm in college I will take recognitions and medals. Call me a big kid, because i don't mind! Pro wrestling is soap opera for men!

Today was I saw my first pay-per-view Wrestlemania. Niki and I went to SM Megamall to see Wrestlemania via satellite.

When the movie screen lit up with montage of historical moments in Wrestlemania, I had shivers.

Super different when I was watching with other wrestling fans. There were boo's (like when John Cena FU'ed Shawn Michaels) and aah's (Jeff Hardy leg dropped Edge from a 20-foot ladder). Only in Wrestlemania enthusiastic hurrahs (Taker pinned Batista) can icetea plastic cups fly. I can stil hear the WOOOOH's of the theatre everytime HBK chops Cena. Ahhh ang saya!

Hostage Taking: Pinoy Style!


Jun Ducat with two accomplice held hostage of a bus filled with 32 children. The bus was supposedly scheduled for a field trip. Information about this individual surfaced. He had a history of hogging the limelight like he took hostage of two priests on disputes of San Roque Church's construction during late 80's, he went on hunger strike in 1995, and he ran for congress in 2001.

In the heat of the approaching elections, Jun Ducat made a publicity stunt and became a glorified hostage taker. Throughout the drama, he vented his frustrations on poverty, lack of education, and corrupt politicians by making speech on air. Glorified hostage taker he was because of the principle he vented out and his sentiment was the same with the common people. But the bottomline, he put the lives of innocent in danger just to be heard.

My first thought in this situation was politicians would take this opportunity. And I was right. Bong Revilla was on the scene. To my shock, he went inside the bus and negotiated with Jun Ducat. In handling this situations, I am not a professional or anything, the police should have negotiated with the hostage taker not a mere civilian. It would have endangered the life of another. Honestly I was waiting for Jun Ducat to shoot Bong Revilla. Knock on wood it didn't happen. For me, Bong Revilla was quite ok because he had a clear relationship with the hostage taker but when Chavit Singson became involved it was nonsense. Lives were being played.

When Chavit came I said to myself, it' all politics. For me, Chavit bit the bullet. It was funny because of all the people Jun Ducat called for help was the embodiment of a true pinoy politician he was ranting about. And I mean you need guns and goons to be a typical pinoy politician. Ironic it was Chavit. Chavit was trailing behind the senatorial surveys, so this act of heroism or pagiging EPAL, will may boost his polls. He took a gamble and he won. It was a sight when Chavit was holding the grenades.The scene was tense because it may explode anytime. Some speculated that the drama has a political angle. Some say it was sincere help, no strings attached.

Like a Tagalog action movie, it all ended well. There was your disgruntled underdog of the masa who took his plight and made radical actions to resolve it. There was a musical number, when the hostage stricken children in unison cheered JUN DUCAT. There was your melodrama dialogues between Bong Revilla and Jun Ducat. There was mushy-feel-good-feeling scene when the children kissed Jun Ducat goodbye. There was your climatic scene of Chavit holding the grenades. And the police, ah yes them. The police in tagalog action movies who came late and missed all the action. The same police when the situation was controlled and resolved by mere civilians was just in time to arrest the goons. The same police we have today.

What a show it was!

Ang sisig ay kinabaliwan ng karamihan dahil yung lang yata ang masarap sa Fresh Choice (sorry baon ako buong high school ko). Araw araw, walang katapusan na sisig. Finally may teacher na nagsalita na NAKAKABATA ang sisig! Eh kasi naman ang daming cholesterol nyun! Kaya nawala bigla ang sisig. Maraming nagulat at nagcomplain dahil sa nangyari. Na-settle naman ang lahat at scheduled na ang paghain ng sisig.

At ngyon, di ko pa rin natitikman ang sisig ng GH! AYSEE natikman ko na. DENCIO'S natikman ko na. Ewan kung ano pa ang 4 na taong na sa harap ko di ko pa natikman...

Schoolture Shock wowwed the first day of Kabihasnan

Schoolture Shock was a success!!!!

It was incredible to say the least. What you have planned for 3-plus months was executed beautifully! Lights of different colors shimmering on the feisty femme fatales of the night took Schoolture Shock to rock heaven. Urbandub, Mojofly, Death by Tampon, Craeons and Imago all injected their performance and to the delight of the crowd, they shocked everyone! When the dust settled, one girl band took the championship and the 15K prize,

the Bestidas from Miriam College got the honor of being the best among other femme fatales!

To all doubters and believers of Schoolture Shock, thank you for making it a wonderful experience for all of us in 4I and 4J. Hahaha all the hypertension and the drama were worth it till the end. Egos clashed and hopefully issues were settled. Stress and the clamor for recognition of work were all drained away because of the success attained. Once in a while, adding spice wasn't that bad.

Thank you sa mga kaibigan na bumili ng tickets at na nood! Hahahaha! grabe... thank you!

Thank you to Mr. Buenaseda and Magic 89.9 for all the promotions. Thank you to Mr. Jasson and Ms. Mary Arr for guiding us throughout the whole planning. Thank you to Ms. Alma and Ms. Amy for giving us the opportunity to organize an event like this. Thank you...

We ordered one merienda size special/king(?) congee for each of us. We spent P100.00 for both order. Sulit!

Hahaha we ordered two shawarma on plate, one sizzling keema, one beryani rice and super sulit! Busog at mura, we spent P240.00 only!

Anti-Schoolture Shock

BOYCOTT? DIBA PANAHON PA NI MARCOS YAN?

Ang tagal ko na nagtitimpi. Pero sa mga naririnig ko ngayon, may planong i-boycott ang Schoolture Shock event sa Kabihasnan. At hindi ko alam kung bakit mga batchmates ko pa ang nagpapasimuno nito.

Nagulat ako ng malaman ko na sa lahat pa ng tao magsasabi na i-boycott ang Schoolture Shock ay ang aming S*** Prez. May proof, nagbebenta kami ng tickets kay P**** tapos salita niya ay: "Anti-Schoolture Shock ako". Tinanong ko kung bakit, ang sagot ni P**** sabi kasi. Ako ang bwelo ko bakit raw, ang sagot: "wala lang."

Noong ginagawa namin itong Schoolture Shock, ramdam ko ang biglang iba ng ihip ng hangin. Sino ba kami para gumawa nito? Sino nagbigay ng permission para gawin ito? Bakit kami? Bakit?? Ang mga sagot diyan ay: Noong nagmeeting si Ms. Alma Kagaoan binigyan lahat ng classes, represented by their class presidents, para gumawa ng isang mas malaki pa sa mga booths dahil iiwan na natin ang mga iyan para sa mga juniors. 4-I and 4-J took the opportunity to do something big. Sa amin dapat ang La Sallian Idol pero ayaw namin kaya naiba. Sa mga naasar kung bakit nagkaganoon, ang masasabi ko lang ay sayang kasi binigay na sa inyo ang opportunity pero ano ang ginawa...wala. Hindi kami binigyan ng special VIP pass ni Ms. Alma dahil kami mismo ang naghabol, at gumagawa ng proposal noon para ma i-pitch kay Ms. Amy. Aaminin ko hindi ako makapagisip ng mabuti noon dahil di ko alam kung iaaprove ni Ms. Amy Galang ang event. Sayang talaga...

Sa SACB, kung naasar pa kayo sa radio plug ng Magic 89.9 para sa Schoolture Shock at hindi kayo na i promote, mga 'tsong co-presenter namin sila! Na sa sponsor package nila na ang Schoolture Shock lang ang ipopromote. Nakakahiya naman kay Mr. Buenaseda, president ng Magic, na magpromote ng isang event na co-presented ng 97.1 LS FM! At bago pa nasabi na equal promotion sa mga events na deal na sa kanila kaya bakit naman napaka sour grape! Noong nakipag-coordinate kami sa inyo para magpromote school to school, 'tsong that is recognition to SACB as LSGH's student representative. Noon pa napagplanuhan namin na magpromote idependently pero hindi kami pinayagan dahil may SACB to represent us all. Baka sabihin nyo na nakiride lang kami sa promotion nyo nung school to school, yes nakiride para maayos na ang lahat walang tampuhan at kung anu ano pa pero wala rin pala. Honestly, ako wala akong planong sumama sa school to school dahil mahirap na biglaan lang innotify ang isang school. Basta bakit naman ganoon.
WHERE IS THE BATCH SPIRIT?????

Walang iwanan. Mighty Batch. One batch, one voice, one la salle. Ang raming pwedeng moniker sa napagaling na batch 2007. Pero sa mga oras ng todo suporta sa isa't isa biglang magiiwanan at nagsisiraan. Ang panget kung may nagsisiran sa isang batch, putcha para lang bang nagpaplastikan tayo dito. Hindi ba mga tunay na ligaya, tawanan, kantahan at kung anu ano pa ang naranasan noong mga nakalipas na buwan. Napipilitan lang ba ang ibang ka-batchmate natin na makiride sa uso, kung saan pabor lahat.

Walang respeto sa nakikita ko ngayon. Kung kayo ang na sa kalagayan ko at ng section ko, para bang ANO BA YAN! Kung alam niyo lang ang pinagdaanan ng event na ito. Nakailang sermon, puyat, galit, asaran ang nilulunod ang mga sarili para magawa ito.

Kung ano ang ayaw ng isa, ayaw ng lahat. May sarili tayong mga isip. Huwag sana tayo magpa-impluwensya sa siraan na nagagawa.

Pilit namin pinaplatsa ang mga gusot na nangyayari sa mga naasar sa amin. Ang nakakatawa hindi kami ang nagumpisa ng gusot. Usapang matino wala ng ganyanan... Kahit isang masamang salita tungkol sa event ng PALS at SACB galing sa amin wala kayong maririnig...

Magkaharapan na... ayaw ko ng ganito... kung sanay kayo sa awayan at siraann grabe naman, isipin nyo huling hirit na natin ito! Kung saan pa tayo magpapakita kung ano ang batch spirit, dun pa nagkulang at nagkasiraan!

My heart was pumping when I texted my reference number to 231 to know if i pass or not DLSU. Seconds after, I recieved a message stating that I passed!!!

The text message was misleading! I heard it was stated on the message Congrtaulations on those received by those who didn't pass. Many thought they passed yet when they went on the link instructioned on the text, they found out they weren't accepted.

Nakakasira ng expectations! Nakaka deflate ng balloon of expectations! Embarassment, shame, and disappointment are all mixed!

Finding out the result of DLSU is a make or break moment during this Holiday vacation because the result may bring happiness or a haunting of rude awakening throughout the vacation!

Hope!!! Faith!!! All we need to believe and change!!!

Controversial

I admit it. I was a sell-out during our first softball game. I didn't think my classmates would react that way. And it was controversial. My classmates would hiss and say their shattered aspirations for the game but in the end it stopped and almost forgotten.

Yet this morning, our softball game ended controversially... Hisses were heard again, and sins from last week surfaced. The game was hard-fought as the team of Degu battle it out to keep up with Vinci's team, which I belonged with. It was the last inning. The score was 9 to 10; our team was on the lead. 2 outs and Arel was batting. Arel batted it hard. Arel ran towards the second base and stepped on the base; at the same time, Raffy caught the ball and stepped on the base too... And Coach yelled: "OUT!".

Heart breaking and controversial... Controversy stirs the passion and enthusiasm.

The Departed

Leonardo Di Caprio stars in The Departed. He is an undercover cop who went inside the underbelly of Boston, the Mob. Matt Damon meanwhile is a rat among the police force. He is planted by Jack Nicholson as his informant. Matt and Leonardo struggles to survive and retain what is left behind of their identities.

Violent. Witty dialogues. All-star cast. What can you ask for? The movie delivered a masterpiece from the east and made it a classic american juxtapose of superb acting and storytelling. Jack Nicholson's portrayal of a sick and dark crime boss is no suprise. He delivered it smoothly. All I can say is wow... as in naglalaway ako sa sinehan.

Why am I laughing while watching this movie? Hmmmm hahahaha...

A make or break event of LYC, Lock - In empowered the one lasalle vision in the Philippines. It was a night of music, fashion, friendship, and that distinctly unmatchable LSGH's signature enthusiasm!!!

We, the LSGH boys, are no match if we're talking about the level of enthusiasm and zeal for the event! Walang hiyaan kasi naman turf namin ang St. Benilde Gym!

Kundirana's the best! Hahaha we were super hyper when they performed. The stage was small so their choreography wasn't that good...but in fairness I got chills when they sang! College girls from antipolo were screaming out loud because of Aaron, a mestizo Kundirana. Hahah unforgettable was the YMCA routine! GH boys were standing up and singing with actions yng Y-M-C-A!!! hahahah fun!

Fashion Show! Oh my my my! The beautiful stars landed on the catwalk and showed their booty! Hahaha L.A. and Justin Quirino were GH models so everytime they came out, the GH boys would be chanting! On LA, the chant was an 'Ole-Ole-Ole' from soccer games but instead of Ole it was 'L.A.-L.A.-L.A.'! The chant for Justin was "Mcdonalds!" because he starred in a Mcdo commercial!

I met old friends from the formation camp I attended last December. Everybody changed. I met new friends like Hannah, Christine, GH juniors and many many Lasallians.

Search-In retreat went well. Unforgettable as always, the retreat revealed a different side of me...

I will miss Search-In... Singing my heart out loud even if sintunado or can't reach high keys of Sandi Patti or MYMP or Wency Cornejo... I will miss the awe-struck reaction of retreatants... I will miss the endless tales of being busted by Pao Alvarez... I will miss laughtrips with Migs Palispis... I will miss the lowest and highest points of Search-In...

Project deadlines. Naasar na talaga ako kung bakit dumating pa ang bagyo. Sirang-sira ang schedule. Di pa yata matatapos ang mga projects namin.

Tuloy ang search-in this weekend. Isang floor lang ang gagamitin sa retreat house.

Malalamig na gabi, mainit na pagbubunyag. Mga kandilang lumiwiliwanag sa dilim. Ayan na tayo sa tatlong araw walang tulugan...

Anton and I watched Game One of UAAP finals. ADMU vs. UST! We were on the ADMU side but I prefer the intensity of UST in cheering. We observed that DLSU's cheers were much better than ADMU's and UST's! Hahaha that's the fact!!! Yeah, biased noh?

Oh! I miss the UAAP crowd!!! When I entered Araneta, I was overwhelmed with the yellow and blue colors of both schools!!! Haaaaay, if only DLSU was not suspended...

hahahah It's a heartbreaking loss for UST because ADMU won by a lay up buzzer beater!! The crowd became ecstatic and the whole coliseum rocked!!!

Shoot me in the back, we cheered for ADMU! My heart quivered when I shouted: "One Big Fight!" Arghhhh... guilt... passion... nostalgia...

She

Alapaap

She is a big fish for all the lives she has crossed path with. May it be with her family, friends, or classmates; she shares a unique string with them that weaves everyone caught in its tangle to appreciate and treasure her. An anecdote I want to share is when she invited me and her friends to stargaze on her place. I can feel the magic that echoes throughout that one stargazing night; the string that makes her big fish to her family, friends, and classmates is her love.

Our paths had crossed many times yet we only got to know each other this past summer. When I went to a friend’s party, she was there and her beauty was truly mind-blowing. She caught my sight because her skin was white as a powder; she had big beautiful round eyes; her height made her stand-out among her friends. She had a very keen sense of her fashion. Maybe I was shell-shocked because I hid somewhere, overpowered by her looks, yet she found me. My impression of her back then was she is very shy but it all changed when I got to know her deeper. She had ups and downs on her personal relationships with significant people on her life. She got scarred from people whom she had placed her love and trust. I imagined how grave her situations back then. I sometimes wished I met her earlier and somewhat comforted her. A great friend indeed she was; I had opened my self to her. I trust her with all my heart.

As you can see, I got tangled on her string. She became a big fish to me. She held out her arms and grabbed mine. I refuse to let go because these hands would guide me through a long journey; and in this journey I would learn to love and face reality. I would like to share a moment which best describe the string she and I share, it was a dance: In the heart of the dance floor, everything was slow. I whispered to her about yesterday and the night we were having. Love songs after love songs, we danced. Our swaying bodies came closer and closer. I held her arm, i saw the pearl bracelet and the rosary bracelet. Her head on my shoulder. My other hand on her waist...and I closed my eyes. My big fish, my significant one.

5 seconds left on the game. Jason dribbled the ball towards the hoop. He lost his balance, and went down on the floor. The opponent tried to steal the ball. Jason protected the ball then he saw Gerald running towards the hoop. Jason bounced passed the ball to Gerald. Gerald layed it up and the buzzer echoed throughout FMAC.

Parada ng daan daang lalake

Intrams Opening Parada... The glitz and glamour of testosterone jam-packed gym was a blinding experience of nostalgic passion...Muses of different beauty blossomed throughout the whole parade. Stampede may happen any moment when the lower years were cheering. Waves of Hurrah from ours, the seniors, had stolen the show yet the booming cheer of the freshmen plunged the whole Gym to a stoic mess.

Ah yes... Ang Parada...
