Aquathlon

Last January 24 2008, I blogged about joining the Aquathlon. But due to insufficient funds and conflict with the schedule, I wasn't able to walk the talk.

Pero kanina lang, nakajoin na ako! I would like to thank Ciara for giving me the reg form for Aquathlon.

I courted Kid to be my relay partner, he would be running 5km of Atenean earth. We had great fun. Kid was checking out swimmers while I was imagining a possible scenario of my awful finish.

I wasn't prepared for it. I was the last one to finish the swimming part of the relay. Kid and Ciara, theo classmate, were screaming, "Go Joseph!". Hearing their support (obviously Kid was encouraging me to swim faster to avoid humilitaion), I was motivated to finish strong on my last two laps but after a moment of intense all heart swimming (it only lasted for 2 seconds), I paused, walked a bit, then swam like a dog into the corner, finally ending the swimming leg.

Kid finished the running leg earlier. Technically, our team didn't end up last! hahaha! So yeah boy!

I would recommend for my blockmates and everyone to join Aquathlon next year! Super fun!

Thank you Kid for being my partner! And to all the people that I courted to be my relay partner, I salute all of you for tolerating my ambitions, dreams, and aspirations. haha!

The experience wasn't embarassing. This was a moment that I could say I walked the talk. haha!
